Pricing of Young Leaders Program

The Young Leaders Program is designed with a pricing structure to ensure that it remains accessible to every student who wants to attend, regardless of financial ability.  Continue reading for more information.

Standard Registration (still less then feeding a teen for a week!) 

Your Young Leaders Program tuition pays for the following:

• 2 high quality polo Uniform Shirts with the YLP logo 
• 1 t-shirt for causal times/athletics
• Scholarships up to 100% for students in need
• Sponsorships for students who cannot afford to attend
• Program enhancements and improvements, including gear and equipment that are used by youth during the program, such as cameras, SD cards, etc.
• Supplies used by youth during the program, such as paper, pens, markers, flash drives, etc.
• Other costs associated with operating the program.

How Our Price Compares to Other Programs

According to a recent article by Care.com, most overnight programs average $690 per week (typically 5 days), with many programs peaking at $2000 for a week.  That is $138/day.  Young Leaders Program is substantially less!  Compared to the national average, Young Leaders Program is a bargain!

So what does it cost?

If one were to pay the full price, the cost would be over $1000.  However, due to our continuous fundraising work, we are able to keep our costs as low as possible.  Special funding is available for those families who choose to "Self-Sponsor," and we also offer discounts to schools and organizations as well!   For 2020, pricing is as follows:

• Student/Family Pay  $599
• School/Organization Cost $899

Scholarships

Some students will receive scholarship paid by a sponsoring organization in order to pay for the costs associated with Young Leaders Programs.  Typical organizations that might sponsor student scholarships include the following:

• Schools​
• Businesses
• Non Profit Organizations
• Churches
• Other groups

If students are unable to find a sponsor, they can choose to pay-their-own way (aka self-sponsor).  To ensure the program remains within reach of students, they receive a scholarship.  The scholarship pricing covers the basics to send a student to the program, which include:

• Up to 3 meals per day for the duration of their stay
• Printed Handbook
• Uniform Backpack (string style)
• Applicable taxes, charges, fees, and other operational expenses

Operating Costs

Operating Costs include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Government taxes
• Insurance
• University Fees
• Travel expenses
• Staff stipends
• Unexpected costs
