YL Club: What Is It? (The Ramblings Of A YL Club Member(Mostly On Topic))
I am a member of YL Club. So how do I actually govern my nation? First off I chose to be a dictator, and there might be consequences for that; all actions are taken into consideration and good and bad things happen in response. Or at least it seems that's the case. But let's start with some of my documents, to see what I'm dealing with as a YL Club Member. This is a link to my initial colonization. You will need to open it with a YL email address. This link can be opened by any email address. The last link takes you to the ordering template for my Nation in the YL Sim. This is how I order things to be done for my country.
Countries made in the YL Club will be able to impact the main summer camp. One thing I've learned about YLP is that one year is not the same as the next. This will be exaggerated with new countries in the Sim showing up. There were no holidays when YLP started (not in the Sim at least), but the last couple years there has been a National Squirrel Day. This is not some random thing some adult said, 'hey, I want the kids to have to celebrate squirrels,' but was passed in the Sim Congress by kids attending the program. The kids make changes to the Sim; not the adults. This means that YL Club is an extension of the camp, but for other countries, run by individuals, not by a whole group. Right now the USP (United States of Price) doesn't have a military; attendees haven't set it up. If a country from YL Club attacked the USP it would be pretty defenseless. (though don't attack the USP, this is just an example.) Two months in the real world, (not the Sim), is 1 year in the Sim. The USP catches up to the YL Club year during the camp: 1 day is 1 year, making YL Club and the summer camp end on the same year, effectively catching the USP up to the rest of the world in the Sim.
YL Club is fun, and I'd recommend trying it out. If it becomes too much you can either let your country go into 'AutoPilot,' or give your country to someone else. It's teaches much of the critical thinking YLP teaches at the camp; just over the whole year. So if you're new to YLP I'd recommend giving this a try, it's critical thinking for a fun project; one that will affect lots of people, if you do well. Here is the current, as of 2024 summer camp, (effectively 2025), USP code of laws.
If you have any questions or have created a UhN country please reach out to this chat with your YLP email address. This is a link to a YL Club specific google chat. It is meant for YL Club conversations, so please only ask questions relating to YL Club. It is going to be used as a communication network for various YL Club members to trade and make deals, alliances, and settle disputes. There are administrators who monitor the chat, and these administrators can also answer logistical/Sim questions.
I feel vary fortunate to be a part of this YL Club. My name is Christopher, and I am the dictator of Arbor Terra. You can see that my country was already made before YL Club if click on the main page of YLClub at the top of your screen. That's because I made my country in 2024. This was when making a country was a lot more difficult. Thank you for reading my ramble; YLP is the best!
