About Young Leaders Program

For 2023, Young Leaders Program is back to a full, residential week-long camp! This year will be at Linfield University in McMinnville, Oregon! Students learn through a combination of direct instruction, classes and coursework, and most importantly, our micro-nation based simulation, which allows students to engage and explore future adulthood and their own possibilities in a safe, yet challenging way.

We Learn by Doing
More than a "summer camp", Young Leaders Program empowers participants to experience leadership and governance and take on the roles. Students create their own society through concepts of proper governance and personal responsibility, living and learning within that same society.

Develop as a Leader
The immersive simulation experience of Young Leaders Program allows the students to develop characteristics, learn techniques, and explore beliefs while growing as an individual and as a leader through combination of direct instruction, networking opportunities and simulated endeavors.

Discover the art of Governance
Throughout history, humanity has debated how to "govern oneself." Young Leaders Program offers an insight not only into how we govern, but why. While many other national government styles may be discussed and presented, Young leaders believes in and adheres to the principles of democratic, representative government.

Return Yearly
That which students build does not fade away when they leave. Each year builds upon the next, creating a rich tapestry of history and precedent. As students return each year of their high school career, they add on to their own accomplishments while simultaneously adding richness and depth to the simulated learning experience.
