The Young Leaders Summer SimuNation™ program is meticulously designed to cater to the needs and aspirations of today’s youth. Through the collaborative efforts of the students in attendance, the SimuNation undergoes a yearly evolution, allowing them to shape and build their own world. Our mission is to engage and inspire students from all backgrounds, particularly those who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Native American, English Language Learners, Migrant, Talented & Gifted (TAG), and others.

At the Young Leaders Program, you don’t just learn about leadership; you also get to explore leadership in specific fields of occupation. These fields include:
  • Governance and Public Service
  • Business & Commerce
  • Law Enforcement
  • Law & Litigation
  • Media & Journalism
  • ​and more!

Gamify Adulting

The Young Leaders Program primarily employs simulated learning as a method of delivering content. Students also have the opportunity to analyze, evaluate, and create within the simulation. This is not a “mock” program; it’s an actual, interactive simulated world that students play out during the program, akin to a game.

Year after Year

Students can return to the program annually. Since the program spans multiple years, students are divided into three groups based on their attendance duration. Despite attending at the same time and location, students receive differentiated programming tailored to their program experience.

Remind Announcements

I have never been = at a summer program until Young Leaders. It was a crazy good experianc3 and I was blown away by the diversity and the level of professionalism shown by the staff and the students. I would add that any student attending for multiple years is going to get the full benefit of the leadership training and the college readiness aspects of the program.

How to attend

Examine the website to make sure that you understand the program and what you are applying for. Then complete the form linked below to start the process. Once you have applied our program staff will reach out to you to complete the registration process. Application is governed by our TOS.

Pre-Requisites

Students* do best at Young Leaders when they:
  • ​Are independent, but can work as a team
  • Are organized and can demonstrate maturity and self-discipline 
  • Can engage in high-level debate & thinking
  • ​Can meaningfully participate in the program.
  • Have had a physical examination from a doctor prior to attending (optional)
  • ​Young Leaders Summer SimuNation™ program is appropriate for students in grades 7-12. However, recognizing children develop at different rates, sometimes asynchronously, Summer SimuNation™  may be appropriate to youth outside of that range.  We may be a particularly good fit for talented & gifted students if they are at an advanced cognitive and social-emotional developmental level, able to self-care, and work as a team.

Registration Fee

Standard Registration is $1499 for the week, although most students will attend on scholarships.  Please contact us at [email protected] or call/text 503-893-8939 and ask for one!

  *This fee is just to ensure that students have parent permission and also to prevent people from registering that do not attend.
