The HOTELLA Difference
HOTELLA was born from a perceived need for a flagship program to meaningfully address youth homelessness. So many programs merely sustain the life of the participant: in our program, you with actually get a leg up on life, with a real chance to grow and escape poverty!
Like most homeless shelters, we provide the following:
However, HOTELLA differs in that we also provide the following:
A Foundation of Success
Most homeless programs offer basics: food, shelter, and access to some services, usually schooling and counseling.
HOTELLA addresses all of these plus the other—often overlooked— needs students have in order to become fully realized adults. We do this through our unique curriculum which has been developed during our summer programs for the past years.
Connections to Greatness
Our Leadership training program is key to the success of helping students escape homelessness. Our leadership curriculum includes:
Civics Education is Key to Advancement
At Young Leaders we believe that citizens who are equipped with an understanding of the US System of Government and how to engage and meaningfully participate in our legislative process can make a difference in the lives of their community, nation, and world! As such, we have a strong focus on learning about civics as part of our leadership program, including giving students the opportunity to participate in self-governance through our SimuNation experience, wherein students may run for office, make law, and meaningfully impact their own lives within the program.
