Young Leaders Program is moving to make life easier. How's how. Hi Team We are very excited to hold our first week of the Young Leaders Program! As part of that process, we are simplifying and centralizing our communications process for the week, but also for the months and years to come. In the past, we have used a hodge-podge of technology/apps to connect, including Slack, Skype, Google, GroupMe, and more. That is creating a very disjointed method of communicating, with a different app/login/whatever for each way we chat. Many have found this too confusing. We would like to make life easier, and so we are moving from all of these different methods of communication to a single, unified system: Google Hangouts. This is a unified system that is built into your existing YLProgram Google Apps account and integrates: - Text chat and collaboration (replaces Slack an GroupMe) - Photo/File sharing (replaces Slack, GroupMe, texting, or even possibly email) - Google Apps sharing with automatic permissions granting (makes Google Doc sharing easier) - Audio/Video chat (replaces Skype) This unified system should make things easier for everyone. You can do everything in Chrome, or you can download the app. To get the app, visit this link to download the application(s): get.google.com/chat Note: The mobile version breaks things down into two related apps, Meet and Chat, for maximum efficiency. The desktop is optimized from Chrome, and does have a desktop version also if you want (use the same link above to get that app). Below is a 90-second tutorial on Chat, but it is so simple I doubt you will need it. Moving forward, we will depreciate GroupMe, Skype and Slack, and use Google (Hangouts) Chat for everything. Please note this is NOT the old Hangouts, this is the NEW Hangouts for Business. Thank you, Steve Comments are closed.
